I should have posted about this earlier, but talked myself out of it. But it's still nagging at me.
Did you see the CNN coverage on the death of al-Zarqawi? I'm sure you did. Did you notice the giant photo of his body that they displayed nicely matted and in a fancy, gilt frame?
Is it just me,or did you find the way they displayed that picture totally tasteless? I understand their need to display the photo. I don't understand the need to frame it like an expensive work of art. Among other things, it strikes me as disrespectful to his country. Yes, I know it's a war. Yes, I know our country was trying to kill him. But the expensive framing job really turned me off. Is this the modern version of putting your enemy's head on a pike outside the gates?
But it wouldn't surprise me if Bush requested taxidermy, so he could mount the head on a wall of his ranch and this was his advisors' version of a less tasteless compromise.
