Thanks to my wonderful friend Amy, I'll be at the Old South Pearl Farmer's Market in Denver on June 22, displaying my work, and hopefully picking up some commissions. This is the first time I've ever shown my work in a truly public venue, so I'm a bit nervous about it.
But do come out and say 'hi"!
Luckily, I'm sharing Amy's booth. (Yes, I've been approved by the market organizers, but I don't have a tent, tables, or any of that. Also, I need the comfort of having a friend right there.)
That's good for you, too, as (if you come down) you can grab some of Amy's spectacular soap. Or you can visit her site and buy some, but then you can't enjoy all the wonderful scents. My personal fave is the rosemary mint - I've always got a bar in the shower.
And if you get hooked on the soap, you can buy her e-book, and learn how to make it yourself! She swears it's not that hard. But, as I prefer not to mess with perfection, I'll continue to buy the soap she concocts.
Back on the homefront, I taught Zoe to make coffee. Yes, she's only 3, but we have a Senseo coffee maker, so there isn't a ton of scalding water to worry about. It makes one cup at a time, and comes out at a drinkable temperature. (And yes, I do supervise it. I'm not crazy.)
She's always trying to whip us up pretend coffees. (Cappucino? Americano? Mocha latte? What coffee do you want, Mama? Do you want it with spiders? Or cream and spaghetti?) So I asked her if she wanted to make real coffee, and she ran for the stool, putting it right in front of the coffee maker.
I still need to fill the water chamber, since it's a bit heavy, but she can turn it on, put in the pod, get it started, add the creamer, and stir. I fully expect that this next Christmas morning, cups of coffee will appear on our side tables about 4 am, and we won't be able to resist getting up. ;->
